Christmas Lamb Show

Mr. and Mrs. David Nemelka, of Mapleton, are sponsoring the 24th Annual Christmas Lamb Show. This exhibit will be held from the 5th of December through the 29th of December in the Ingrid F. Nemelka Gallery, at the Springville Museum of Art. The Museum will select 70 works for the show, and each will receive a certificate and $10 award through funds provided by the Nemelka family.
This competition is open to students living within the Alpine, Nebo and Provo Districts. Works should be of a spiritual theme of any religion or belief (Santa Claus images are discouraged.) These works will be juried at the Museum by Dr. Virgil Jacobsen, Curator of Education, and the Education staff. The works are to be original and individually conceived by the students, rather than class projects. No works will be considered for awards if they contain glitter, candy, glued-on beans, macaroni or other materials that tend to fall off when handled. Please be sure to include the artist’s name, phone #, age, grade, school and teacher’s name on the back of the art work.
Entries may be brought to the Museum on the 10th through the 14th of November from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. As a result of the growing popularity of the show, we are asking each school to limit the number of submissions to 100 so that all schools will have an opportunity to participate. Each student is limited to one entry.
An open house and awards ceremony will be held at the Museum on Saturday the 5th of December at 1:00 p.m. Student artists, teachers, family and friends are invited to attend. Artwork should be picked up between the 30th of December and the 9th of January 2010. Art will not be retained after January 2010.
